What’s new

Everything that changed in the game: new features, improvements and fixes. The latest on top, earlier months in the archive below.

  1. Fix ·

The installed app no longer stays sideways

ProNardy added to your home screen used to force landscape EVERYWHERE — menus, statistics and the Academy included, even though they read better top to bottom. The app now follows your phone, exactly like the site in a browser.

Landscape is only needed for the game itself: the long backgammon board is wide, so game screens still ask you to turn the phone. If the app is already on your home screen, it may take a while to pick the change up — Android refreshes installed apps within a day; on iPhone it is quicker to add the shortcut again.

  2. Improvement ·

The Academy no longer makes you wait

A game review is now computed once and stored on your device. Before, every visit to the Academy started the analysis from scratch — even if you had just waited it out.

A new game is reviewed in the background right after it ends, so everything is ready by the time you open the Academy. Older games catch up in a queue, and leaving mid-queue is safe: what is done stays done.

  3. New ·

Your game history can be saved to a file

The statistics screen now has a “History archive”: save your games to a file and restore them on a new phone or after clearing your browser.

The file carries your profile too, so online games stay yours: the Academy reviews your side, and the replay board faces the right way. Importing only adds games — a file can never erase the history you already have.

  4. New ·

The Coach explains moves in plain words

The replay and the Academy trainer now have a Coach: it puts what the engine computed into plain language and answers follow-ups like “what if I had played this instead?”.

The Coach runs on your own AI provider key. The key is stored on your device only — our server never sees it. Without a key everything works exactly as before.

  5. Improvement ·

The computer got stronger on Medium

The engine now sees structural gaps in its own home board and stops leaving them for a small gain in tempo. Measured over thousands of games that is worth about four percentage points of win rate — noticeable if you play on Medium.

  6. New ·

    English interface

ProNardy now speaks two languages. The language is detected on your first visit and can be switched by hand at any time; a room link opens in the language of whoever you sent it to.

  1. New ·

The Academy: a review of your recurring mistakes

After a game, every move is compared with the best one, and the Academy collects your mistakes across all games and groups them by concept — stacking, a broken prime, gaps in your home board.

A mistake is not just shown but replayable: the trainer opens that exact position and waits for your move.

  2. New ·

Online play, nearby games and tournaments

Playing friends online by a room link arrived — your opponent needs no signup. Two phones side by side can play with no internet at all, over a direct connection.

Tournaments came too: a round-robin for any number of players, with a table and full game history.

  3. New ·

    ProNardy went live

The first version: the exact rules of long backgammon — the head rule with its first-move exception, the six-point prime, bearing off with overage, and the Oin / Mars / Koks / Home Mars scoring scale.

In the box from day one: two players on one device, a computer opponent, game history with statistics, and offline play once installed on your phone.

Got an idea? The app has a “Write to us” button — every message is read by the person who builds this game. What ProNardy can do today is in the feature overview.
